I don't think I can describe it much better than that. I was also a founding member of what, from what I heard, quickly became the best 19 twink guild in the battlegroup.ītw, I feel I should mention this is an edit of my original draft. Ive seen a couple streams and YouTube clips of an addon that adds some sort of radial menu, but i can't figure out what i need to search to find it. For anyone who made foolish choice to "twink" w/o capping, (oh yeah, you'll totally pwn those undergeared scrubs for the 3-5 bgs you'll be able to do before you lvl) if it's really worth doing to you, which it shouldn't, you can always cap your xp while you collect the gear and undo it once you're ready to pvp.Īnd I think I know what I'm talking about, I have 2 lvl19 twinks, a rogue and a hunter, both of which have existed since about early BC if I remember correctly. now that we can, and have to, cap xp to stay in the same pvp lvl bracket, accidentally lvling past the max bracket lvl, for w/e reason, is your own fault. ![]() But now that twinking is effectively dead and not so fun, (debate this all you want, you'll still be wrong, if you wanna pvp with the best gear possible for your lvl, pvp on your 85 - or w/e current lvl cap is, at least that way you'll get some scrubs in the mix, and for people with only vanilla/BC/WotLK you'll get even more scrubs lvling through) - Where was I? Oh yes. Side note: to anyone who warns about extra xp from wearing heirlooms, or whines about the resulting bracket-breach, back when in my day we couldn't cap our xp, so we did everything we could to prevent lvling faster, which would mean logging outside cities/inns, and not wearing xp-boosting shoulders. Because hit's so hard to find at 19, and a dw rogue (like there's any 2h rogues.) needs even more hit, I'm thinking this change could be helpful until I find an easier way to reach the hit cap. Either way there's no way I would sell SoW, and the fact that its no longer obtainable strengthen that (though because it's a quest reward I couldn't get it again anyway). Snacks stay together, for the most part, in two doors, at Highland Park Markets, Glastonbury, Conn., according to Kevin Dukett, frozens and dairy manager.Farmington Statistics | Town of Farmington | Public Schools | Library | Farmington Historical Society | Visit Gerdes said that in some of his large stores, a separate snack section can take up to 20 feet and include "Anything from pizza rolls, frozen nachos, pocket sandwiches and hors d'oeuvres." Three other retailers - Food Giant, Jerry's Enterprises and a small West Coast chain - integrate or separate snacks according to the size of the store and/or frozen-food department. Sobeys also puts certain hors d'oeuvres with like products and has a section for party foods. Pizza appears on top and snacks are on the bottom. Capicotto said that private-label pockets from Wakefern are currently under development.Īt Sobeys, some snacks are grouped together in a six-door lineup with pizza. Handheld entrees are merchandised together at Big V, directly next to the pizza. The oddball player is pretzels, which comes just before the ice cream lineup, next to the dessert category," he said. Though it depends on the department size and each store's demographics, Big V generally does not merchandise snacks together. As a result, snacks often are merchandised in several different areas of the department. Unit sales were up 3.6% to 164 million.Ĭatering to snack consumers isn't always easy for retailers because the category is not well-defined. Unit sales were up 3.3% to 473 million.Ī second category tracked by IRI is "frozen appetizers," which had dollar sales of $354 million, up 10.6% from the previous year. The total category of frozen handheld, nonbreakfast entrees had dollar sales of $745 million, up 4.6% from the previous period, according to Information Resources Inc., Chicago, for the 52-week period ended June 22. 1 snack item for Food Giant Supermarkets, Sikeston, Mo., according to Tom Schmutz, division manager.īoth Falkenham and Capicotto attributed much of the category growth to the convenience of microwavable snacks, which can be easily prepared by children or teenagers.ĭavid Gerdes, vice president of grocery and frozen at Jerry's Enterprises, Edina, Minn., cited after-school consumption as the largest use of snacks, followed by their use as hors d'oeuvres, and then as a replacement for dinner. There are about two new lines of product a year, with about 10 items," he said.īig V's most popular items are also handheld entrees, which he said are often eaten as an after-school snack. "Even though there are drop offs, there's a net gain. The snack category is increasing, both in sales and in items, at Big V Supermarkets, Florida, N.Y., said Mark Capicotto, director of frozen food and dairy/deli. "In units, it's grown over 8%," said Falkenham. All the retailers SN polled are pleased with the snack category. The plan is expected to be completed sometime this year. Pillsbury Pops are not available in the United States.Īccording to Townsend, Pillsbury is working with Sobeys on a category management plan for the chain's snack segment. The program has been promoted with the help of a humorous, offbeat ad campaign that appeals to the target group and stresses how much filling is in the Pillsbury Pop over its competitors, said Falkenham. The company has responded by successfully marketing a re-engineered and redesigned Pillsbury Pop directly to teenagers. Pillsbury Canada, Markham, Ontario, did a study a few years ago that showed teenagers prefer more standard pizza tastes, like cheese and pepperoni, in their handheld entrees, and that they want a lot of "stuff" inside, according to Peter Townsend, Pillsbury Canada's category manager for frozen snacks. ![]() A private-label sandwich called "Pizza Kins," marketed under the "Our Best" banner, is also doing very well, according to Falkenham. Handheld entrees are Sobeys' most popular snack items. "Instead of having a whole range of adult tastes, it's getting back to be a teenager food," Falkenham said. While many adult varieties, such as Tex-Mex, have been launched over the last two years in the handheld pocket category, some manufacturers are now concentrating on what their younger customers prefer: meat and/or cheese, said Falkenham. "There are new items, but fewer stockkeeping units," said Terry Falkenham, frozen-food category manager for the Maritimes at Sobeys, Stellarton, Nova Scotia. Brisk sales of frozen snacks show no signs of abating, as retailers better identify items that are in high demand by a core consumer - the teenager. ![]() ![]() ![]() I moved the speakers so that they were directly on the hardwood floor with the area rug just in front of them. But the speakers themselves were not the most secure and could slide a bit on the area rug.Įnter the Gaias. Apart from the eyesore of hockey pucks in our living room, they really did work and improved the bass response to be less boomy. Finally, with do-it-yourself experiments, I achieved more improvement with a classic Canadian DIY tweak: eight hockey pucks. I was gifted small lead speaker spike discs that I put directly on the rug and that helped with balance and isolation given that the room itself was not perfectly level. I then tried the speakers on a Persian area rug with the spikes directly on it. The boomy bass was somewhat corrected by moving the speakers out even further from the wall, almost four feet into the living room. This resulted in a boomy bass and fairly unrefined soundstage. Initially, my speakers rested on the spikes provided on top of quarters on the hardwood floor in the living room. This is not my first attempt at speaker isolation. But as Cauchon also mentioned, “the rule of thumb is to have a 10% margin” so if your speaker weight is within 10% of the weight limit, the recommendation is to use the next size up for best results since the weight of a speaker is often not equally distributed between the spikes. Each speaker weighs about 80 pounds and so this fits within the Gaia II specifications of a weight capacity between 70-120 pounds. I used the Gaia II isolators on my Soliloquy 5.3 speakers. But I was curious to see if speaker isolation could provide another dimension to the music and what would happen to the clarity in my listening room with the Gaias. In fact, like most audiophiles, I would say the speaker itself probably accounts for most of the changes in sound in a system. In other words, the sound of music in your listening room should change but the character of your speakers should not. The Gaia technology, according to François Cauchon, Canadian National Sales Manager, are “designed to decouple the component or speaker from its connecting surface, allowing it to float independently.” By doing this, the thought is that firstly, sound reflections coming back from the supporting surface, like a hardwood floor, are “attenuated to eliminate smear, providing greater sound clarity and openness.” Secondly, by giving the speakers themselves more isolation and thus more prevention of lateral movement and oscillation, particularly from bass production, there should be “greater clarity and focus.” Further, isoAcoustics’s frequency response testing from inside the anechoic chamber of Canada’s National Research Council claims that the Gaias do not add sound colorization and that they track with the original spikes with which the speakers are provided. These disc shaped weights, with a suction cup technology built in for additional stabilization, screw in and attach to most floorstanding speakers or bookshelf speaker stands. The final product I reviewed from IsoAcoustics were its flagship product, the Gaia speaker isolators. ![]() IsoAcoustics Part 3: The Gaia II Speaker Isolators by Jamie Gillies ![]() ![]() ![]() Photo courtesy of the San Francisco History Center, San Francisco Public Library For another, it was at the nowhere corner of 10th and Market.”ġ937 photo shows lobby of the Western Furniture Exchange and Merchandise Mart shortly after opening. Of course, before the internet, all shopping had to occur in person or by catalogue, but buildings like this sprang up in major American cities (an even larger Merchandise Mart in Chicago has also seen some recent adaptive reuse) because of the synergies that existed within this particular industry, and the mutual benefits of bringing home furnishing vendors together in one physical location.Īt the dedication ceremony on July 31, 1937, San Francisco Mayor Angelo Rossi declared, “This building sprang into life in less than a year, constituting San Francisco’s answer to the Depression. ![]() ![]() ![]() The new Todoist developer platform and PowerApp integrations have huge potential for the future and I’m curious to see if and how Wunderlist ( now owned by Microsoft and Todoist’s biggest competitor) will react. I’m a strong believer that todo lists are only as useful as their ubiquity, and Todoist embraces a philosophy of working with other apps and not locking your tasks into a silo. Since moving to Todoist last year, I wouldn’t be able to switch to any other GTD app that doesn’t offer a web API and integration with other services. Treating tasks as calendar events has several limitations 5, but it works well to view todos and events in a unified interface with wide compatibility of clients and connected services. That also means I can use Fantastical’s excellent extension and natural language input to create tasks, and that I can switch to any other calendar client to view and create Todoist tasks as long as it supports Google Calendar. By setting the Todoist calendar as the default calendar on my iPhone, I can ask Siri to create new events and they’ll be saved as tasks in my Todoist inbox with a due date. Thanks to this integration, I’ve been able to natively view and create new tasks in my Todoist account from anywhere on my iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Changes you make in Google Calendar will be reflected in Todoist thanks to PowerApp and its two-way sync: delete an event on Google Calendar and its associated task will be marked as complete in Todoist change its date and time, and changes will instantly propagate to Todoist and vice versa. Once connected, Todoist will create a calendar in your Google account bringing every task over as an event carrying the task’s name, due date, and time. The Google Calendar integration in PowerApp has been even more powerful in my tests.
